Tampa Bay’s Dancing with the Stars

July 30th, 2010

On Saturday, September 11, 2010, Julie Weintraub’s Hands Across the Bay will present this year’s Tampa Bay’s Dancing with the Stars, an interactive Ballroom Dance Competition.  The event will be held at the stunning Pepin’s Hospitality Centre and will feature epicurean delights, phenomenal auction items and remarkable entertainment by Fred Astaire Dance Studios of Tampa Bay. This exciting and innovative black-tie affair capitalizes on the current popularity of ballroom dancing, reality based television and the overwhelming success of previous years.

Proceeds from the event will go directly to support the mission of the following worthy charities: Kid’s Charity of Tampa Bay, Moffitt Cancer Center and Pepin Heart Hospital.

Patterned after the tremendously popular ABC television show, Dancing with the Stars , in the midst of its tenth season, this unique event was the first to be produced locally in 2008 and year after year has had unprecedented growth and success. With the overwhelming attendance, response and success of the first two years, we are putting all of our resources into ensuring this year’s event is record breaking!

Our exclusive partnership with Fred Astaire Dance Studios of Tampa Bay will allow our Celebrity Star Dancers the opportunity to be paired with a professional dance instructor who will make certain that they dazzle the crowd.  The Celebrity Star Dancers are local community personalities, leaders and celebrities who will capture the audience with grace, glitz and glamour.

Each of the dance teams, the Celebrity and their professional partner, will perform one ballroom dance of their choice. Performances will be judged by National and International Ballroom Competition Adjudicators combined with the votes cast by the audience.

Tampa Bay’s Dancing with the Stars 2010 is being chaired by one of Tampa Bay’s most notable and community involved individuals, Gold & Diamond Source’s own, Julie Weintraub. Julie has already received great interest from individuals who want to dance as well as sponsor the event. The lasting impact this event has had will enable Hands Across the Bay to support many people in Tampa Bay who need it most.

The steps our dancers take on the dance floor are representative of the many steps that will be taken by Hands Across the Bay to improve the lives of many Tampa Bay residents. We at Hands Across the Bay and all of those that we serve, thank you in advance for supporting and most of all enjoying, Tampa Bay’s Dancing with the Stars 2010.

About the Beneficiaries

Kids Charity of Tampa Bay, Inc. is a non-profit organization of concerned individuals whose mission is to improve the quality of life for foster children and foster families.  After years of involvement in areas of direct service for children that have been abused, neglected or abandoned, this group of community leaders decided that an organization was needed that could focus on areas of service that are less directly funded by the state or federal government, yet still provided support in areas of critical need and life improvement.  Raising funds and developing resources, both in-kind and monetary, that directly affect these areas of critical need is the primary focus of Kids Charity of Tampa Bay, Inc.

SNUBBED PATIENT GETS A LIFT – PREMIERE CORRECTS A BOTCHED PROCEDURE

June 29th, 2010

Kathleen Beane is just one among many who claim to be victims of a cosmetic surgery scam. Ms. Beane scheduled surgery with a now defunct company who took her payment in full for two procedures but failed to provide the services. They continue to deny her a refund.

After learning about Ms. Beane’s plight on the news, PREMIERE Center sought to immediately reestablish credibility among their field. The PREMIERE Center contacted Ms. Beane and set up a free consultation with plastic surgeon Dr. Gloria Thomas. After determining that Kathleen was indeed a candidate for surgery, the PREMIERE Center offered to provide her procedures free of charge.
