Breast Reduction is a cosmetic plastic surgery procedure for women plagued by abnormally large or sagging breasts. The Breast Reduction procedure reduces the size of the breasts by removing fat, glandular breast tissue, and skin; then the breast is reconstructed to be smaller, firmer, and more aesthetically pleasing. Extremely large breasts make it difficult for a woman to exercise, find form-fitting bras, and properly fitted clothing; and in some cases may cause a woman to be self-conscious. Breast Reduction helps relieve back, neck, and shoulder pain. Breast Reduction also helps reduce skin abrasions and chaffing from pendulous (sagging) and/or heavy breasts. As a result, Breast Reduction patients are historically some of the most satisfied plastic surgery patients.
 
The cosmetic plastic surgeons at PREMIERE help patients determine the expected size and shape of the breast depending on each individual woman’s anatomy and/or preferences. The Board Certified plastic surgeons at PREMIERE make incisions around the areola, down the breast, and under the breast in the crease. Breast Reduction is a three to five-hour procedure, with minimal post-operative discomfort. Women typically return to work and/or light activity within one week. Although, most patients are back to work and non-physical social activities in about a week, it may take several weeks before patients can begin strenuous exercise. Kelo-cote® is an advanced formula scar gel which relieves itching and discomfort associated with scars, softens and flattens raised scars, and reduces redness. The Board Certified Cosmetic Plastic surgeons at PREMIERE do their best to minimize scarring; please bear in mind, depending on your individual anatomy scarring is different from patient to patient.

The Breast Reduction procedure is done on an outpatient basis, in the privacy and comfort of our fully accredited (AAAASF) cosmetic surgery suites in Miami and Tampa.
