BOTOX® Cosmetic (Onabotulinumtoxin A), is a prescription medicine derived from purified protein. As a simple, nonsurgical treatment, Botox® Cosmetic is directly injected into muscles and used to temporarily improve the look of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines) in both adult men and women. Botox® Cosmetic works by blocking nerve impulses, reducing muscle activity that causes persistent lines to form on the forehead and between the brows. As a result of Botox® Cosmetic treatments, many patients gain a smooth, relaxed-appearing, wrinkle-free brow.
