Do you wish you had a more youthful complexion?
For most women, the answer is a resounding yes; however, many women struggle to find a skin care program that does the trick. This leaves them with having to accept the visible signs of aging or considering cosmetic treatments or surgery.
Facelift surgery is often performed to reduce or eliminate the most common signs of visible aging like fine lines, wrinkles, and sagging skin. While this plastic surgery procedure provides desirable, comprehensive results, it is not for every woman.
Some women do not wish to undergo invasive surgery; others are not candidates for the facelift.
If you desire facial rejuvenation but are hesitant about a facelift, PREMIERE Center for Cosmetic Surgery offers non-surgical alternatives.
What Is a Non-surgical Facelift?
The non-surgical facelift is a non-invasive or minimally invasive treatment that addresses some of the same concerns as traditional facelift surgery, such as wrinkles, sagging skin, and volume loss.
While these treatments cannot address the same level of laxity, they can restore a more youthful-looking facial contour.
Two of these treatments are the liquid facelift and the PRP facial.
What Is a Liquid Facelift?
A liquid facelift is a combination of dermal fillers and neuromodulators that restore volume and reduce wrinkles in different areas of the face. This non-invasive treatment is performed in-office in a matter of a few minutes.
Some of the injectable treatments used include:
- BOTOX® Cosmetic
- Dysport®
- JUVÉDERM®
- JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® XC
- RADIESSE®
- Restylane®
- Sculptra® Aesthetic
What Is a PRP Facial?
A PRP facial uses injections of your platelet-rich plasma (PRP). This all-natural injection requires a sample of your blood to be drawn and placed into a centrifuge that will separate the growth-factor containing platelets from the red blood cells.
The platelets are then injected into various regions of the face to reduce lines and wrinkles and improve tone.
How Are the Liquid Facelift and the PRP Facial Alike?
Both a liquid facelift and a PRP facial use injectable treatments to restore a more youthful and rejuvenated complexion.
These treatments do not require surgery or downtime, and they cause minimal discomfort. Many dermal fillers, like RADIESSE® and Sculptra® Aesthetic, return youthfulness by stimulating collagen production. PRP does the same thing.
Collagen is the main structural protein found in skin, muscles, ligaments, and tendons. Our bodies produce less collagen as we age, leading to an increased amount of fine lines and wrinkles.
How Are the Liquid Facelift and the PRP Facial Different?
A liquid facelift uses synthetic materials to restore volume that has been lost.
A PRP facial uses the growth factors and platelets from your blood to rejuvenate the skin.
The liquid facelift restores natural-looking fullness to the face—which is useful for women looking to increase the volume of their cheeks, temples, or space in between their nose and mouth (nasolabial folds).
PRP does not restore as much volume as dermal fillers do. PRP does, however, address and improve tone and texture concerns that no dermal filler can. PRP injections brighten dull complexions, smooth rough textures, thicken the skin, reduce acne scars, and minimize the appearance of wrinkles.
Which Treatment Is Best for Me?
The right non-surgical facelift for you will depend on your skin concerns and what you are hoping to get out of your treatment.
